We talk a lot about impact in business, but behind every impact is a connection.

This week, I had a brief LinkedIn conversation with someone I’d never met in person—just a quiet little moment in the DMs—and it stuck with me.

It reminded me that there’s more that connects us than divides us—in business, in leadership, in life, and even in ministry.

Connections Don’t Have to Be Big to Matter

Sometimes we think connections have to come from long meetings or formal intros. But honestly, it’s often the smallest conversations that linger the longest.

That two-minute chat? It brought me joy.
And she later told me—it brought her joy too.

It wasn’t a strategy call or a networking pitch.
It was human. Real. Grounding.

In the rush of the week, it’s easy to see tasks, deadlines, and client needs. But if we zoom out just a little, we’ll see people—and the relationships that are quietly shaping our business and our mindset.

Here are a few small ways to make room for connection, even on a packed calendar:

• Send a kind DM to someone you appreciate
• Pause before a meeting to ask how someone’s really doing
• Reach out to someone you haven’t talked to in a while
• Celebrate a small win with a teammate
• Listen without rushing to respond
